Walking Holidays In The Dordogne - Wildlife, Nature and Wildflowers

If walking on holiday is something you enjoy here at Le Tilleul we are lucky enough to be surrounded by many hectares of forest and countryside. There are 100s of kms of marked and un-marked walks and trails. Use the gite as a base and spend your days exploring...

  • Spot orchids and hundreds of other species of wildflowers

  • Ramble thrugh forest glades, truffle and walnut orchards, grapevines, past lakes, visit enchanted rocks, discover the stone shepherd’s huts or ‘bories'

  • Amble round the trails of La Gondie (counting the stone ‘bories’ as you go!)

  • Explore the pretty village of St Raphael (best view for miles!)

  • Have lunch by the river at Tourtoirac

  • Visit the castles at Hautefort and Excideuil, and much more!

We can advise you on walking routes, places to stop and eat, help fill your picnic basket, or meet you at a pre-arranged place with your lunch! We might even be able to supply you with a willing guide!

And if all that walking has made you feel even more adventurous, you might want to try some other activities to fill your week
